Long Pause, Speed for the Needy and Wars with Gears

Sorry for the long absence when I said I would be right back. School can do that.

Need for Speed: Carbon (X360)- 8/10

Pretty and Fast. They accomplished their two main objectives and they know it since they included the photo mode yet again. The races are nicely tracked out but since they made the city bigger it feels simpler. The city in the last Need for Speed was at least I felt more complex, smaller but more intricate. The city now is relatively simple with some alternative routes and hidden side streets. Also oddly I don't feel the same level of competency from the police. They were always on my ass always one P.I.T. maneuver from taking me out. I am 40% through the game and I have barely felt their presence. it makes things easier but at the same time relatively disappointing. The cars available are much within the same respect as the last game with the added bonus of the Autosculpt. Which allows the anal among us to truly fine tune the look of their car. Also there is the addition of the sidekick who helps you out in races, either to find paths, block other drivers, or give you a bit of a speed boost. They are nice to have around because usually no matter how much you screw up they will win the race, heck when you are winning they will steal it from you at the last moment. Annoying in a principle sense but nice in able-to-be-a-retard sense.
I recommend this game as a used buy because I'm sure the online is fun, the main game is fun, and the unlockables are sweet. So for the little annoyance it is nice and a solid racer.

Crackdown (X360)- 9/10

What!? Over already!? Noooooooooo!!
Oh right I was writing something. Well having just beat the game and finally 4-stared everything I have little to do in the Crackdown world...doesn't mean I'll stop playing it..there is still online...hehehe. The game is nicely stylized without being annoying and due to the graphics it can do some awesome distance drawing. I know you've probably heard it before, but really it is useful to know where your headed or where you want to go. It's also just damn pretty. Your abilities as an agent are incredible as you increase them. Also don't worry once you complete the main game you can still wander around the world with criminals or no criminals. The online I tried a little and with a good connection could be quite fun. Only real issue with this game is the length, everything else is wonderful and fun. When you can jump like a grasshopper from roof top to roof top...honestly you'll find yourself giggling like a child.
Anyways rent it, buy it, whichever. It's good.

Until Next.

The 360 Returns, the prodigal son...of a manufacturing facility

Feels good to have it back, as a bonus it seems my replacement console may be a part of a change that silently took place. Xbox 360's have been getting new quieter, and better disc drives. Wooot!

Anyways let me review a couple of games I have been itching too play.

Superman Returns (X360) - 6/10

Well this game can be added to the heap of cheesy, rushed movie games that come out all the time. The game follows little storyline....well it probably has a fine storyline thats peppered with the events of the movie, but the cut scenes are too lousy to hold my attention. Outside the cut scenes the game is pretty decent. Free roam is nice especially with super speed and flight, with random events to save the city popping up alot...not as often as preferred but alot. To improve your stats and the city's you can search for kitties...yes kitties. There are 100 strewn throughout the city, and believe they are hard to find.
Once you get past Superman's seizuring cape you will notice a fairly nice game. They team that made allowed full use of Superman's powers but with the limitation of energy/stamina. You need to be careful cause if you drain it then get hit you go down...but you easily recover by taping Y.
I gotta say I did not get this game expecting stelar anything, I only got it cause I can use Superman's powers with unlimitedness....and there's Bizzaro, though i haven't gotten far enough to play as him.

Though at this point I must leave for a Midterm. I believe you might understand.
I will be back to add another review after such time.
Until Next.

Illegal Alien at Ryerson...How about Some Reviews?

Well I am wasting time at the local Ryerson and figured I would do up a review or 2...though since my 360 is out of commision, I haven't played anything of note or long enough for PS2 and I don't own a PS3...both will be Wii reviews. Not that theres anything wrong with that....its just that i don't own a Wii, and it seems every time I play I want one just a little bit more.

WarioWare: Smooth Moves - Wii
9/10
If you've played any kind of WarioWare before be ready for more of the wonderful same. Random Mini-games a plenty and every single one has its own art style. I love the art and randomness to death, its a game that forces you to think and perceive. Also possibly the only place it falls short. Every WarioWare is in the habit of dumping you face first into the games with little to no instruction. Though as I said it forces you to think and do what should be considered the obvious action for the mini-game situations. But if your new or retarded you will fall flat on your face repeatedly. It's a steep learning curve and unfortunately alot of people have too tight an asshole to relax and figure things out. Otherwise WarioWare is a wonderful group and single player game with lots of entertainment and gameplay that lasts, if not for fun then for perfection of all the mini-games.

Metal Slug Anthology - Wii
8/10
Basically one of those get-what-you-paid-for-which-was-on-the-label kind of things. Metal Slug Anthology is the quintessential collection of the Metal Slug series having every iteration of the game from the beginning. Gameplay is simple with the nice ability to use almost anything to play the game, a GC controller, the wii-mote in different positions, one even said "Nunchuck only". I didn't try it 'cause I was afraid. :P
The graphics are slightly cleaned up and the levels have been increased in difficulty with tweaks to enemy counts and boss patterns. The reason for this is the fact that you have unlimited continues. ...believe me you'll need it, on average I died 30+ times per level.
My only issue was that it is quite simple, the graphics are fun but not stellar, loading screens...yes for some reason there are loading screens...break up gameplay at times, and some control aspects are annoying....like having to shake the wii-mote to throw a grenade.
Otherwise it's a good buy, but only if you like really simple gameplay or metal slug.

Ok, that's all folks.
Until Next.

Waiting on a Dream....well Actually just Future Shop

Holy Crap....did you feel that!? The whole stopped time thing that just happened...I think it's been like a year or something....wow.....yeah... I'll stop.

So how about that nothing since forever with the blogging. Well if you missed my stuff I'm sorry, I didn't have the time or interest, more so the latter.

How about I welcome you back to my life with some current events recap and the such.

Since October my 360 has been in and out of the shop...the Future Shop. My box started to scream and slow down as well as freeze so I took it in to the Shop. So here's my policy: If the product requires more then 3 repairs it will be replaced, Each time it is in for repair they have 60 days to repair it.

First Turn In:
Box Status - Slow, glitching, Chronic Freezing, screaming fans (...and not the good kind), and random loose piece rattling inside, otherwise in good condition

58 days later, Received Status: Still loud fans, Scuffed Case, Original box is "fucked up", Freezing reappears in a week, and so does the rattle (yeah I don't know how a rattle reappears).

After realizing they fixed nothing, I attempted a swap with another 360, turns out it has the 3 red lights of death. That is the state I turned the box over to Future Shop. They know it could not be fixed without being refurbished by Microsoft. They still send it in for repair, I was unable to convince them to give me a new one.

Second Turn In: 3 weeks after received
Still waiting on return....they have less then a month...

So thats that drama....I want my fucking box back....

I have purchased Lost Planet, Superman Returns, Arcade unplugged, and Table Tennis since my box has been gone....and I was in the middle of Viva Pinata when it started to die again.

Never buy anything expensive at Future Shop. Get it at Wal-mart of Costco....you say there is something wrong, they toss it and give you a new one.

Anyways...ya so when I can play games I will give you sufficient reviews....I might think up some for the Wii games I have played on my friends system...Wario is awesome.

Until Next.

Unfinished Business - The Lost Days

The Remaining Days

8 - Servbot Heads
In the middle of a Zombie Epidemic its nice to put a funny face on the situation sometimes...literally. Servbot heads can be shoved on the head of any walking zombie. Grab enough and then "cap" enough and you will have the workings of a great screenshot.

7 - Bowling Ball
Bored? Play Ten-pin. Bowling balls are a good source of fun and if zombies could yell obscenities at you it would be even more fun. Just stand at a distance, wind up, and let er roll!

6 - Boomerang
Similar principle as the bowling ball, not that effective for killing but if you want a Crocodile Dundee flash back, its the way to go.

5 - Lawn Mower
We're Mowin' now! Nuff' said.

4 - Car
Same principle derived from the mower according to Dr. Oppenhoggen of the Car->Zombie School of Massacre Research.

3 - Shotgun
Classic. Just Classic.

2 - Mini-Chainsaws
Vroom, Vroom in your hand. hehehehe...

1 - Queen Bee
Story Related Item...basically smash one of these baby's and every undead thing in a 2o ft radius dies. Don't ask why, just accept it. It's the sound of music...dah dahdahdah du dah du doo doo.... It's good...trust me.

So those are the missing Weapons and days. No pics now but maybe later.

11, 10, and 9 days till Dead Rising!

Here are my next 3 choices:

Battle Axe - This hefty weapon is wonderful for slicing and dicing the undead much like great heroes like Hercules and Conan. A truly wonderful weapon for pwning the hordes.

Dinner Plates - This weapon is very much about the random use then effectiveness. Sitting there throwing plates at one zombies head for 2 minutes is quite priceless as the zombie will never learn to duck.

Dumbbell - Why not pick a weapon that at the same time as smaking down Zombies you can work on your guns?

Until Next.

12 days left to Dead Rising!

Thine first make-shift zombie slayer would be the wonderous Baseball bat! Some of you would argue that the bat is already a weapon with nothing make-shift about it, but let me ask you this! Have you ever seen a monkey dance?!
My list does not require rhyme or reason! it is much like the game itself! Why would you put buckets on the heads of zombies? why would you sit and throw plates at a single Zombies head?
No Raison! :P Futurama reference...
For those memorially impaired I have a picture there to be gawked at.

Now the next 2 days I am in Niagara Falls so the 11 and 10 will be posted simultaneously. Objections? Maybe? Well Shove'em.

Until Next.

Long Absence and The 12 Days of Dead Rising

Hello to you strange ones who read my blog..yes I know I havent updated since liek April or May. Here is my explanation: XP XP. End Line.

Anyways Dead Rising is coming this August. 8th and some of you may be thinking YAY, some are thinking Pooey, and the rest are thinking WTF?
Well I think the game looks fucking wonderful. :)
As a tribute to the only game I have been waiting for this summer I will be posting my preferred Make-Shift-Weapons-of-Choice.

Once I get back tonight I will post my first weapon of choice...I will not reveal my Make-Shift Wonder until that time so you will have to wait. To be specific these weapons are chosen out by considering Comedic Value, Effectiveness, and Random-Awesomeness.

Until Tonight.

Quaking in your boots for a 4th time

Quake 4 - 6/10
Meh, is exactly how I feel about this game. It was neither amazing or bad really. Graphics were that of Doom 3 since it was the same engine....even the enemies evaporated similarly...but at least the maker's of Quake gave a good explanation for evaporating bodies :P
Sound was fine..music was ok...the story was interesting but as with most FPS's it had little depth. Basically your fighting on the home world or a home world of the enemy...you fight, fight, get captured, converted, rescued, then fight, fight, kill a freaky brain, the end. whoo, did you feel the rollercoaster like movements of that story? no i didn't think so.
The enemies are decent and varied, they will have you going "oh shit" commonly. Your weapons for fighting...I felt at least....were lacking in power....I stuck to my basic machine gun, dark matter gun, rocket launcher and energy weapon...anything else was to slow or practically ineffective.
Hmmm what else...oh a nice difference from other FPS was the fact that alot of the time you had friends helping out...they are commonly more effective then yourself commonly being able to take even large enemies down with a headshot or two or a single melee strike...you heard me, a Single melee strike. I found it a nice surprise when in a room with 3 large badies that take 5 rockets each and Mr. Joe Blow walks up and with a single smack and brings down everything.
Basically I bought the game cause there is a lack of anything of true interest for me for the X360. If anything rent it...its not worth a purchase.
Until Next.

The Human Race is Doomed at E3

Well the gaming year seems to be centralizing around our ultimate destruction. There seems to be a Crysis which involves the Gears of War turning, the main attack seems to be by Auto Assaults, and any Resistance is being put up by Alan Wake and Huxley with a Halo around their heads. What we do know is that it was started because we are Too Human.
Many games are basing themselves around our ultimate demise, and I am sure I have missed some in my above wordplay, but for any lookng for a happy and fun gaming experience might have some slim pickings among the AAA titles that are headed our way.
I have no problem with this, I just figured I might as well draw the connection because i haven't heard anyone else do so. :P

The KIngdom of the Hearts Returns!

Kingdom Hearts 2 - 9/10
A strange attraction is about all that explains why so many, including myself, flock to Kingdom Hearts. The game is a fun mix of the fantastical qualities of Final Fantasy and the magic of Disney. The game continues the fun of the first game and answers many questions if not ends the story....here is hoping they don't make a sequel because they have no where to go. :P
The graphics are a slight step above the first game, but really the difference is only noticeable in the cutscenes, which are amazing. The gameplay has had wonderful additions such as Drive forms and Reaction commands. Drive forms provide wondeful ways to obliterate enemies and Reaction commands provide ways to trick and trash your enemies.
Music much like the first game is great and i wish i had the soundtrack but i must stick to what comes off Limewire for now. :P The gummy ship segments I think are much improved and quite fun. Though they can take some skill, the basic idea is shoot. Just shoot, shoot, and shoot some more, and you will be fine.
Character work was for the most part well done, voices are close to the originals and animation is decent.
Now for as much as i love the game i have some peeves. Animation seemed to forget that chracters have expressions and usually blink...they must have forgot because anyone not Sora, Donald, or Goofy could have used more work. As well, and this is big for me, the collesium provides no experience...none what so ever. I have to say its bull. If i am going to waste items and potentially have my butt kicked give me xp!
Aside from those issues i had few to none. The game is great and a worthy expansion...just wish they had some secret bosses. :(
Until Next.

Playing to Oblivion

Elder Scrolls: Oblivion - 9/10
Welcome to the world of Oblivion, there is food, drink, spells, monsters, and places to explore everywhere. Though if your not careful you may play until you waste away!
Yes, Oblivion is that good. The game is like a beautiful, smart, super star athlete cousin of Elder Scrolls: Morrowind. Everything is done right in Oblivion, graphics, story, ease of exploration, character depth, the ability to see your attacks on an enemy actual have some effect. Its all good. Whats great is how easy to be evil it is, and being good actually takes work. Everyone has daily lives and a mind of their own that will compell themto tell you what they think of you. I commonly was called "snowman" as i was playing as a Nord. But i would turn around and show them who owns with a quick bitch slap of my sword. Then i would pay my fines and be on my way. :P I have yet to find a shortage of things to do, but that doesnt mean you may get sick of doing somethings. I commonly went between free roaming and questing to alchemy and massacres.
Though if I am praising the game so much why not a 10?, you may be wondering. Well the game is not without its technical flaws from time to time. I am currently unable to complete the quest to cure vampirism...which annoys me since i have had my fun as a blood sucking bastard. Sometimes you will see roots in a cave go ape shit for no reason, and guards that will follow across the world because you killed someone in their town. There are problems but for any game of this size its almost expected.
But none the less I must recommended this title as at least one decent title among a variety of dissapointment that the X360 came out with.
Until Next.

To Purchase a 360

I have recently purchased an Xbox 360. It has not died form heat, it has not scratched discs, and I love how user friendly it is. The console is great that is all I have to say. The media blew up any little rumor or minor problems the consol had but I am glad I bought now rather then earlier.

The Games I bought for it: Perfect Dark Zero (mistake...do not buy because it will freeze repeatedly), Kameo: Elements of Power (do not buy it...you can rent it and finish it in a day), Dead or Alive 4 (buy it ...rent it...do whatever but it is a good fighter and can be fun with friends), Elder Scrolls: Oblivion (buy it, buy it, buy it. THe game is wonderful. if you played Morrowind...forget what you hated because every issue has been fixed. The game is wonderful and i will play it for a while to come.)

That is all for now but remember the console is good..but save your money and decide when the rest of the competition is available.

until next...i am too busy too do a full fledged post.

Late but Not Forgotten....The God of War

God of War - 10/10
Yes, a perfect score...it would be difficult for me too find a flaw in this game. Few if any glitches, great level design...I mean amazing level design...its just such a perfectly tuned part of the game, weapons + abilities are great and quite useful as well as fun too use, storyline albeit mature is intriguing and familiarly original. Graphics are great, sound and music are well done, on and on this game is great.
If you search any where this game has most likely received rave reviews aside from game of the year.
I definetly recommend buying it if not rent it.
Until Next.

Battle for the Earth in the Middle again! Which happens to be in LOTR!

LOTR: Battle for Middle-Earth 2- 8/10
The reality born of a single man's mind which has produced a numerous fan base, 3 movies, + 1 cartoon feature, and a number of games. The latest is this RTS.
The game is an extension of the original with a few modifications. Base building is like any other RTS, interestingly a change from the first one.
Whats really great is the ability to create your own hero. The advent of new races is also great. It is quite noticeable that alot of work was put into balancing the races as they all play much differently.
The graphic quality is nice for an RTS, but be ready to pay for it with 6 GB of free space.
Overal it is a nice RTS that will satisfy your gaming addiction until better things come along.
I must now return to gaining awards for my hero Farmur!
Until Next.

Black...What? Thats all its called...Black...Oooo

Black - 7/10
Short...really short....and I am not talking about Garry Coleman, I am referring to the length of Black. I ran through it in 5 hours I don't believe I have ever played a AAA title that short, it just hasn't happened. The game is difficult, so difficult I am not sure I want to play through again on Normal, Hard, and Black Ops difficulties. Maybe I just sucked but I doubt that...the game is F-ing intense. I found my self in many a tight spot even on Easy...and your kill count will reach the thousands once you reach the end of the game. In terms of graphics, well, the commercials emphasize the guns and rightfully so, textures on anything else are pretty bland...possibly a trade off for extremely destructible environments. Though the destructability is so extreme that most likely alot of it gets lost in the intensity of the action. The story, the little there is, is progressed through live action scenes...of which you cannot skip for what ever bloody stupid reason. There good but I just want to play when I have like 20 min till I have to go. One pet peeve I had about this game is later on I could barely see my reticule for aiming. The dust flying around caused it too blend right in, but that could be a positive because the dev put dust in. The environments look bland at times but the destructability made up for it. The enemies were numerous and annoying. The game was too short and the menus are a little simple for my taste, I like menus that I can use. Also co-op and multiplayer would have been big pluses, but for some reason were not included here.
Overal the game was lacking compared to my expectations, but still ok. Also in regards too it being short it is supposed to be a series of three games so I guess that makes up for it.
Until Next.

Empire at War....uh in the Stars....so Star Wars

Star Wars: Empire at War - 9/10
Welcome to the Dark Side, hooo-k, I am Darth Va...Aw hell I'm not gonna right the review as Darth...not gonna work. Anyways the game is quite good. The combination of space and ground battles is something I have not seen since Imperium Galactica. The system works perfectly with the Star Wars theme and has been molded too perfection. Since I am not feeling very literal I shall do Bullets! *the crowd hushes* What the hell is wrong with you people its just bullet points. *the crowd murmurs even more* Aw F*** you...idiots...anyway moving on:
  • Graphics are clear and from a distance look great
  • The cinematic camera is very nice, its great to just be able to sit back and watch the movie when the battle is in your favour
  • Not having to worry about any resources besides cash is refreshing and allows for you to get wrapped up in the battle and only the battle.
  • Its nice to control the deathstar, its really great for the lazy at heart. Don't want to invade the ground just blow it up!
  • Clear play dynamics between the Imperials and Rebels, and numbers do not always win, a refreshing change.
  • Numerous amount of small things that add up to make the game play enjoyable, for example: speedin up time, cinematic camera, battle field overlook accessed by spinning the mouse wheel out, only have to worry about money, some nice abilities with heroes, numbers don't always win, etc.
  • Its the Star Wars Universe in a well made game.
My only negative is the detail on ground units, not enough, I am kind of being a dick about it but to be honest I am a graphics whore. If I don't like looking at what I am playing I don't want to play it very much. So get this game! And if possible get it in Maryland, USA...they only have 5% tax. Whoo!
Until Next.

Most Eagerly Awaited Upcoming Releases

Since I have not really played much in the way of full fledged games I have just been playing Roms and web games I decided to do a list of releases I am most eager to play, so without further ado let us begin! (Warning: this will be quite long) **There is probably mor info online about release dates and the number of platforms each game is being made for is probably mor then I have listed here.

Kingdom Hearts 2 (PS2) - March 28, 2006
The unlikely but successful collaboration between Square Enix and Disney Interactive returns in Kingdom Hearts II; where a darkly-cloaked Mickey Mouse joins Donald, Goofy, and Sora as they continue their adventure into several popular Disney-inspired worlds. Battling against the Heartless once more, the dedicated group of friends now find themselves up against an all-new enemy threat -- a mummy-wrapped ruler of unknown origin. Also fresh to the series is a brand new meter known as the "Transformation Drive" that allows players to merge with other team members to create more powerful versions of themselves. New costume designs, improved camera controls, and the answer to lingering plot questions from the first game are also included. Developed exclusively for the PlayStation 2.

Black (Xbox 360)(PS2) -
February 27, 2006
The developers of Burnout take the heavy throttle of its highly-evolved graphics engine, shove a threaded barrel into its exhaust ports, and load it up with high-caliber bullets with Black, a first-person shooter from EA and Criterion Games. Join the world’s most brutal and enigmatic strike force. The BLACK tactical squad operates under the cloak of complete anonymity and deniability to protect the US from threats foreign and domestic. It answers to no one, allowing it to carry out brutal and overt operations around the globe. From manipulating politicians to controlling intelligence networks and militaries, BLACK operatives are trained at the highest level in psychological warfare, espionage, and lethal arts. Go deep into the world of clandestine warfare as you use any means necessary to get the job done.

Tomb Raider: Legend (PS2) - April 11, 2006
The first Tomb Raider title to be designed by Crystal Dynamics (after years under original creator Core), Tomb Raider: Legends is an all-new start for Lara Croft. New character animations and control schemes compliment the more natural character design and level details for the most immersive chapter in the series. Lara comes packing modern devices such as a magnetic grappling device, binoculars, frag grenades, personal lighting device and communications equipment for her all-new adventure.

Final Fantasy 12 or XII (PS2) -
Q2 2006
First traditional RPG installment in Square's long-running Final Fantasy series since Final Fantasy X. While Final Fantasy X-2 offered a mission-based structure, Final Fantasy XI explored online roleplaying, and Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles focused on multiplayer link-up gaming, Final Fantasy XII (12) goes back to the meat of the series by offering a sweeping storyline, a party setup, and character advancement. The game follows the exploits of main character Vaan who can join forces with at least two characters at the time. Final Fantasy XII is being produced and directed by Yasumi Matsuno and is slated for release on PlayStation 2.

Starcraft: Ghost (PS2, Xbox 360) - Q2 2006
Stealth action game, set in the ground-breaking real-time strategy game's universe. The story involves Ghost Nova, who is investigating a mysterious chemical known as Terrazine Gas. It is a powerful psychic reagent that has attracted attention from the Zerg, Protoss, and Terrans alike. StarCraft: Ghost is a tactical action game. The new approach, which now takes place in full third-person 3D and stars a super-sexy heroine as a 'ghost operative,' still involves futuristic alien battles involving the three warring races, but does so with a new emphasis on stealth and in-level combat. Nova uses her cloaking abilities and the latest Terran technology to outwit her enemies.

Star Wars: Empire at War (PC) -
February 16, 2006
Set in between chapters of the two Star Wars series, this realtime strategy game bridges Episode III and Episode IV as wars rage for control of the galaxy after the devastation of the Clone Wars and in the wake of the Jedi slaughter that has disrupted the balance of the force. The game lets players wage war on ground and in space, as well as experience the creation of the Rebel Alliance, the strengthening of the Empire and the beginnings of the Galactic Civil War. All of the gameplay and action within Star Wars: Empire at War is a persistent, meaning that strategic and tactical elements from previous events will have a permanent effect on the galaxy.

LOTR: Battle for Middle-Earth 2 (PC) - February 2006
The follow-up to EA's strategy title set in J.R.R. Tolkien's beloved novel series, The Lord of the Rings, The Battle for Middle-earth 2 allows players to engage in heated battles with Elven and Dwarven armies plus heroes and creatures that have never been seen in a The Lord of the Rings film. The Lord of the Rings, The Battle for Middle-earth II Collector's Edition will offer everything the sequel does plus entirely new and exclusive content. Included is an exclusive Bonus DVD with HD-video content of in-game cinematics and trailers, plus "The Making of The Battle for Middle-earth II" featurette, "The Art of the Game" artwork collection, a two-sided, 11x17 Campaign Map Poster, and exclusive game content that includes unique "create-a-hero" graphics and the fire-breathing Dragon unit.

Prey (PC) - March 2006
Prey tells the story of Tommy, a Cherokee garage mechanic stuck on a reservation going nowhere. Abducted along with his people to a menacing mothership orbiting Earth, he sets out to save himself and his girlfriend and eventually his planet. In Prey, players enter a living spaceship which enslaves alien races and devours humans for lunch. A unique twist on the first person shooter genre, Prey features such innovations as the ability to walk on walls, manipulate gravity and perform a "spirit walk" by leaving your physical body behind. Designed by Human Head (under the direction of 3D Realms), Prey features full online support for up to eight players, utilizing the game's play innovations for unique multiplayer experiences.

Heroes of Might and Magic V (PC) - Q1 2006
(No article at Gamespot but I think the screenshot speaks for its self)

Auto Assault (PC) - Spring 2006

Take out your road rage safely with Auto Assault -- fast-paced vehicular combat, high-tech, futuristic weaponry, and hundreds of intense skills provide a unique departure from traditional MMORPGs. Hop in your own customized cars, semis, and motorcycles and prepare to fight the mutated creatures and bandits of Auto Assault's post-apocalyptic world. Savage 2 (PC) - Summer 2006
Savage 2: Tortured Soul builds on the successes of the first title to create new battlefields for multiplayer loving gamers to call home. Return to the fantasy realm of Newerth to continue the epic battle of Savage. As in the original, the game combines traditional RTS play with fast action combat in a multiplayer environment. Savage 2 uses a 20 unit class based system that should create more variety and strategy to who chooses what units in battle, and is more Battlegroup/officer based than ther original for tighter structure and more complex battles.

Dragon Ball...I mean Dragon Quest 8

Dragon Quest 8 - 9/10
I have yet to finish this game and yet I have reached the 50 hour mark. The meat of the game so far has been a team effort between myself and my roommate and I must say he has done most of the boss battles. On to the review....
You might have seen a number of commercials for this particular game and any hype you may have heard is true. It is a great game and I am glad it came to North America. The story is excellent and quite original, you will commonly think "this is the end" and the story continues. The characters are quite fun and the cut-scenes commonly comedic. The graphic style is familiar yet interestingly inventive.
The game has the air of a Final Fantasy that has been simplified and injected with child-like fun. Spells are great in the way that they are named after the sounds they make rather then real labels like ultima or fire.
The music and sounds of the game are light and enjoyful, but can be dark and forboding when needed.
The battle system is nice mainly because of the ability to psych-up a character to increase the damage they do, but you can also set other members of your party to do their own actions rather then over seeing every attack. Otherwise it is missing some features that you might be used to from some of the newer Final Fantasy games.
Aside from some problems with the progressing dificulty of the game it is truly great. This game deserves its 9/10 because of the new light it brings to an old genre.
Included with Dragon Quest 8 is the demo for the next in the Final Fantasy series. The demo shows much promise for the full game too follow, the focal point besides a presummably great story is its brand new battle system. The system combines the great parts of real-time battling and turn-based to create a fun and new hybrid.
Until Next.

Conking Conker

Conker: Live and Reloaded - 5/10
To be clear this game is almost entirely a port of the old Conker's Bad Fur Day from the N64 to the Xbox. You may know this I did not.
On to the reviewing...firstly the game has great graphics, they are worthy of being called "Next-Gen" with what we have seen so far from X360. The music and sounds are well done and the story is simple but funny and easy to follow, (no matter how lacking in plot). But that is where my positives end. The story is quite fragile no matter how satirical it has so many holes and no bloody plot. But if you know me I am almost always about gameplay and graphics. The graphics are great, but if your character is so fucking inept that he can't jump from one platform to the next it doesn't fucking matter. Conker is funny, but his motor skills are somewhat lacking. The jumping ability is short and fall damage is HUGE! I mean HUGE, because if Conker were too fall off a fucking kitchen table he would die. I hate the gameplay so much....every fucking enemy needs a special thing and a special move to be killed. The basic fucking enemy takes at least 5 hits to die!! I found myself wanting to kill small animals in anger rather then jump for joy cause I finished a level. Every time something went my way I wasn't happy, I was relieved that I didn't feel like I was going to die of rage.
I do not reccomend this game, in fact if you see it in the store grab it and chuck it at the cashier then lite it on fire. Or do it in what ever order you like but do not buy this game, at most it is a rental.
Until Fucking Next.

Next Review: When I find some thing to review, maybe Age of empires 3
